The Essential CNC Router Maintenance Checklist

A reliable CNC router maintenance plan reduces unplanned downtime, protects machining accuracy and helps the spindle, vacuum system and motion components last longer. Use this checklist as a starting point and adjust the frequency to match your materials, workload and factory environment.

DAILY CNC ROUTER CHECKS

• Remove chips and dust from the worktable, guide rails, racks, tool holders and electrical cabinet air inlets.

• Check the spindle collet and tool holder for resin, dust, runout or visible damage before loading a tool.

• Confirm lubrication level, compressed-air pressure, vacuum hold-down and cooling-water flow where fitted.

• Listen for unusual bearing noise and watch for vibration, heat or alarms during the first production cycle.

WEEKLY MAINTENANCE

• Inspect rack-and-pinion drives, ball screws, linear guides, drag chains and cable connections.

• Clean vacuum-pump filters and check hoses, spoilboard sealing and fixture leakage.

• Inspect tool-change forks, tool sensors and the automatic tool changer for loose fasteners or contamination.

MONTHLY ACCURACY AND SAFETY CHECKS

Verify machine squareness, repeatability, emergency stops, limit switches and grounding. Back up controller parameters and important production files before software or parameter changes. Record findings so gradual wear is visible before it becomes a failure.

WHEN TO CONTACT TECHPRO CNC SUPPORT

Stop the machine and request support if you find repeated servo alarms, abnormal spindle noise, overheating, damaged cables, poor tool clamping or accuracy that cannot be corrected by normal calibration. Send the machine model, serial number, alarm code, photos and a short video to speed up diagnosis.
